Dear Fern, My love of makeup really did start when I grew closer and closer to my sister. As a little girl myself and Alice would argue like any normal sisters and didn’t feel as if we had too much in common. We both – independently of each other – went onto YouTube and…Read more Letters to a Blind Girl #13

Letters to a blind girl #5
Dear Fern, It is easy to find yourself thinking that someone else’s grass is greener but if we don’t stop and think about what we have and what we can become then our own lives are consumed with someone else’s. This is no way to live. If you let comparison of another become all…Read more Letters to a blind girl #5

Dear Fern, I totally agree that when I first lost my sight I did judge people. I didn’t look beyond their disability because I wasn’t able to look beyond my own. If you are reading this post after 2016, funding is still available however I believe that universities themselves will now be asked to foot the bill, contact the disability adviser at your university to ask about this). Anyway, access to this makes my life so so so much…

My Struggle With Inviting Music Back Into My Life
To me, music was something I had been associating with my sighted life and I hadn't let it into my blind world yet. When I was younger I always played the guitar; I used to watch my sister playing in her room and my friend Jess post videos on YouTube. I always watched my hands…Read more My Struggle With Inviting Music Back Into My Life
